Project Description
Why do I want to show this work?
I decided to include this project in my portfolio because I experimented with different art styles and materials. I normally try to work on realistic drawings with pencil, but for this project I tried to be more creative. I used watercolor, colored pencil, crayons, and markers. I had fun experimenting with something new. There is a lot of room for improvement, but I am happy with how my word art turned out.
What 21st Century Skills does this project address?
This project represents self-directional skills. We had time to work on this project during class, but I worked on most of it in my own time. I had to be organized and self-directed to arrange time to work on this project (in addition to other assignments) and turn it in by the assigned due date.
How does this project represent my current growth?
I think this project shows my growth in organizational and self-directional skills. I took advantage of my work time in class, and arranged work time afterwards. I think that this project also shows growth in my artistic abilities, because I decided to challenge myself to try experiment with different art styles and use different materials.
How could I improve this project?
I think that I could improve my word art by planning out my designs before creating my final project. I had a rough idea of what I wanted to include in my word art but I came up with most of my design as I was drawing it. I think that if I had everything planned out beforehand, I could be more deliberate in the drawing phase and my art would look neater.
