Project Description
This was our first exam of the semester. It covered the first two chapters that we covered in class. The topics that were covered were introductions to vector functions and differentiating vector functions. We did it on Cengage.
Which 21st Century Skill do you feel this assignment addresses, and why?
I think this project addresses thinking and problem skills. I had to use my mathematic solving skills to complete the exam. I spent a lot of time studying for it and creating a reference sheet. We were allowed to use one reference sheet for the exam.
What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why?
I am proud of the grade that I got on this assignment. I managed to get 100% on the assignment. There were a few questions I was confused on, but I was able to solve them in the end after trying several methods.
How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skill with this assignment?
I developed my thinking and problem solving skills by using the formulas I learned in class to solve complex problems. We were not only tested on the memorization of formulas, but we also had to use the formulas in complex ways. Many of the problems had multiple steps that required lot of time just to figure out how to approach to the problem.
What was most difficult about completing this task?
The most difficult part of the test was the testing format. I had to make sure to get all of the answers correct on the first try, as the test was submitted on Cengage. We were also graded on our work, so I had to make sure my written work was neat and easy to read.
How could you improve this work? If you could start over, what would you do different?
If I could start over on this assignment, I would spend more time studying. While I got a perfect score on the test, I think if I studied more I could have completed it faster. I think I also could have made my work neater.
How does this relate to what you have learned in the past?
Most of the content covered in this quiz was new to me, but the concept of vectors was familiar to me from the college physics class I took last year. We also learned how to calculate velocity and acceleration of vectors, and the physics knowledge I had helped with that has well.
How can you apply this to future learning?
The topics covered on this test are the foundation of the rest of calculus 3. I will use what I learned in this class for the rest of calculus 3 this year, and throughout calculus 4 next year.
