Project Description
For this project I had to create a model of one of the human body systems, using a skeleton model and clay, and label its parts. Using our leftover modeling clay, we had to create one large model of an additional organ. I decided to create a model of the muscular system and a brain.

Why do I want to show this work?
I wanted to include this project in my portfolio because I put a lot of effort into creating it. I spent a lot of time building this project. There were no specific guidelines for this project so I needed to be creative. I experimented with many different ideas before actually creating my final product. Many of my ideas did not work, and I had to re-build my model about 3 times in the beginning.
What 21st Century Skills does this project address?
I think this project addresses informational skills. I had to conduct research on my human body system in order to create an accurate model. I used informational texts both printed and online to assist me in this project. I also did some research on clay sculpting to make my model neat and stable.
How does this project represent my current growth?
I think this project shows my growth in conducting research and thinking and problem solving. I learned that I need to spend more time planning out projects that involve construction. I think that I did well at being persistent with experimenting with new ideas, after many of my previous ones failed. I made sure that I knew a lot about my human body system so that I could create an accurate model.
How could I improve this project?
I think that I could improve this project by planning it out in detail before constructing it. I spent a lot of time in this project experimenting with new ideas and designs. I went through many trails and errors before I finally came up with my final model design. If I figured everything out beforehand, I think my model would look neater and take less time to complete.
