Project DescriptionAs part of our lesson on the legislative branch, we created our own bill (law). The bill would be presented in front of the class, and the some of my classmates may argue against my bill. After the debate, the teachers (Mr. Adam and Ms.Strong?) will decide if my bill will become a law. My bill would ensure that 50% of energy in the United States would come from renewable energy sources by 2050.

Why did I include this project?
I selected my bill as a work sample because I put a lot of time and effort into writing it. I tried to make my bill as specific and detailed as possible. I think this work sample accurately shows the amount of effort I am willing to put into my work.
What 21st Century Skills does this project address?
This project represents civil-literacy and engagement skills. I improved my civil-literacy and engagement skills by learning about the components of a bill and the law making process.
How does this project demonstrate my current growth?
This project challenged me to learn more about the different government systems. My bill shows that I understand the different components of bills and laws. This understanding will allow me to analyze and participate in government events.
How could I improve this project? (New Growth)
I think I could improve this project being more detailed in the Authorization of Appropriation section of my bill. In this section I had to include the amount of funding my bill required. I was able to figure out the approximate funds needed to carry out the bill, but it was difficult to find out how this money would be allocated.
