Project Description
At the beginning of the quarter, we created a dictionary of different workshop tools and materials to prepare us for a transition into our new engineering workshop at the school. The dictionary had to be in the form of a slideshow and it needed to cover a minimum of 30 tools.

Why do I want to show this work?
This was the biggest project we had in engineering for the semester, so I thought it was very important to include. We completed our slideshow over the course of about one week. The information on the slideshow was based on a spreadsheets of notes that we took on videos that Mr. Hazlet gave us, which we worked on throughout the first quarter.
What 21st Century Skills does this project address?
This project addresses informational skills. We had to collect information from the videos Mr. Hazlet sent us and do our own research online to figure out the purpose and safety principles of each tool. We also had to use online resources to find pictures for each of our slides.
How does this project represent my current growth?
This project represents my growth in conducting research and in time management. I do not have any experience with workshop tools, so I had gained most of my knowledge of tools though our spreadsheet assignments and this slideshow. My slideshow took a lot of time to make, and I had to use my time in class wisely and set time aside afterschool to work on it.
How could I improve this project?
I think that I could improve this project by being more elaborate on the safety principles and making the slides more decorative. I am going to look back at these slides when I need to use one of the tools in the workshop, and I would enjoy looking back at them more if they were more visually appealing. If I could redo this project, I would simply spend more time on my slides so that I could add more safety principles to each tool and decorate the slides more.
