Project Description
In Geometry this quarter, we learned about transformations. In this project we created a pre-image on a coordinate plane with ten points. We had to accurately translate, rotate, and reflect our image in three of the plane's quadrants. In addition to our drawing, we created a data sheet with the coordinates of our 4 images.

Why do I want to show this work?
I wanted to include this project in my portfolio because it is one of the biggest projects we did in geometry this year. I put a lot of effort into planning out my designs for this project. I had fun creating this project because I enjoy drawing and solving math problems. I enjoyed working on it and I put a lot of effort into it.
What 21st Century Skills does this project address?
I think this project addresses thinking and problem solving skills. I had to use the math skills I learned in class to create this project. In order to work out different math problems, I had to think and problem solve.
How does this project represent my current growth?
I think this project shows my growth in my mathematical and organizational skills. I had to use the information I learned in class to create accurate transformations of my image. I used organizational skills to keep myself on track to turn in my project on time (in addition to all of my other assignments). Ms. Marsh, my Geometry teacher, gave us a lot of time to work on this project during class, and I used that time responsibly.
How could I improve this project?
I think that I could improve this project by planning it out better beforehand. The image that I drew was of a dinosaur with spikes. I labeled the points that made up the outline of the dinosaur's main body, but I did not label the spikes. I only realized later that I had to add on spikes (in purple colored pencil), because they were the vertices of my image (they made up the outline of the shape).
